Chiropractic FAQ

Is it true that once you go to a chiropractic they make you come back all the time?

At Armstrong Chiropractic I don’t believe in putting everyone on the same treatment plan.  I devise a treatment plan based on the individual patient’s need.  Based on their condition some patients only need to be treated a couple times and others may need more extensive treatment.  During the first visit your condition will be assessed and we will discuss what is thought to be the best course of action for you.  Also at this time you would have the opportunity to raise concerns or questions.

Do you have to take x-rays before you will treat me?

Baby looking concerned

I do not personally feel that it is necessary to x-ray every patient that walks through the door.  During your initial visit I will perform a thorough examination first to decide whether or not your condition can be properly diagnosed.  If I feel that I require more information than the examination gave me then I may need to take some x-rays of the area of concern.  If I do not feel that they are warranted then I may elect to put you on a short treatment plan to see if the condition can be corrected.

Do you accept insurance and are you an in-network provider?

Yes, most insurances are accepted at my office.  I am a participating provider with Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, Medicare, UPHP, United Healthcare, Wausau, and PPOM plans.

How old do you have to be to start seeing a chiropractor?

No one is too young to start seeing a chiropractor.  In fact having your babies and children adjusted is very safe and very beneficial.  I have adjusted many babies, including my own, to help with things such as excessive spitting up, difficulty feeding to one side while breast feeding, irritability and fussiness.  Also children are always falling down and being hit while playing which are all traumas to the body.  Therefore when a child complains of pains in the back or legs or anywhere we should not always just assume that they are growing pains.

Babies and children respond very well and very quickly to chiropractic care.  Also it can potentially help them to stay happier and healthier thereby missing fewer days of school.

I am pregnant, can I still see a chiropractor?

Yes, pregnant women can still be adjusted.  In fact, I have treated several pregnant women that noticed a large reduction or elimination of lower back pain and sciatica symptoms.  Sciatica seems to be one of the most common complaints during pregnancy which chiropractic has great success with.
